Welcome to the South Carolina Society of Professional Land Surveyors online information site.

The South Carolina Society of Professional Land Surveyors is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and protection of the profession by supporting education, legislation and public relations, initiating close cooperation, and acting as an active liaison between the Land Surveying and other Professions with similar or related interests.

You should consider contacting a Professional Land Surveyor:

  • When you purchase property so you will be informed of where your property corners or property lines are located.
  • If you’re having a fence, wall or building constructed to make sure that you are not encroaching onto other peoples’ property and are within legally defined property set-backs.
  • To determine if your structure is in a flood hazard zone and when purchasing flood hazard insurance, to provide an elevation certificate comparing the elevation of the home to the base flood elevation.
  • If your family wants to divide a tract of land and transfer ownership to other family members.
